A Michelangelo day, plus a lot of other stuff

Well, I had a lot of photos to choose from, but I had to begin with The Pieta. How could I do otherwise? I'm being absolutely transported in the presence of all of this extraordinary art!
So here it is (slightly blurry, since now it's behind bullet-proof glass). This of course was in St. Peter's Basilica.
We went to the Vatican Museum, then the Sistine Chapel, then St. Peter's. Which kind of put us into sensory overload. Then we had a crowded, hot, long ride on the city bus back to our hotel. We won't be taking the bus anymore while here in Rome.
We got back to the hotel tired, hot, with aching legs and feet, but had a nice nap. We're now enjoying cocktails in the hotel lounge, then we'll have dinner.
